Antidote is a User Experience (UX) and Analytics platform that aims to help game studios implement game testing in their development processes. We accompany developers from the very first prototype until the game is published and beyond. We work together to create great player experiences and help you reach new heights of success.
You can participate in the development of games by joining Antidote here. You will periodically receive invitations to playtest games of different types and genres that match your interests and get rewards for completing them.
To download Antidote for PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android go to your user menu and download the app for the desired platform.
The games you playtest on Antidote are matched to you based on your player profile preferences, or your existing game library if you link platforms like Steam.
Antidote playtests games across many genres, including action, adventure, casual, puzzle, and FPS, and on various platforms such as Windows, Android, browser, iOS, and Mac, with others potentially being added.
Past titles playtested through Antidote include: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Alan Wake 2, Rematch, Amon US VR, Sorry World!, and Destroy All Humans. You can find more examples of playtested games on the Antidote website.
When developers launch their playtest, they specify the characteristics of the players they would like to playtest their game. For example:
If your profile matches the developers’ requirements, Antidote will invite you to participate in the playtest. Make sure you keep your profile accurate and up to date!
Once you are invited to a playtest, you will find information about the compensation in the project’s description. Each playtest compensation varies based on developer preferences. Generally, rewards include Experience Points (XP) and Antidote Coins, though sometimes the full playtested game or entry into a giveaway is offered.
Antidote Coins can be traded for various game-related rewards, such as games, gift cards (e.g., for Steam, Amazon), game event tickets, consoles and much more. More details about the Antidote Reward system are available here.
If the full game is the reward, you will either retain ownership of the game you tested or receive it upon its release. Notification will be provided when the released game becomes available.
Occasionally, playtests feature a lucky draw for high-value prizes, including high-end PCs, consoles like Steamdecks, or Steam gift cards.
Each playtest is different. The playtest instructions will outline the objectives, such as the required number of times to play and for how long. A built-in timer will automatically alert you when you have met the time requirement.
Playtest formats vary. For instance, some might be a single 30-minute session, others may involve playing multiple times over a defined period, or even completing the entire game at your pace.
To increase your chances of being invited to a project, please ensure your profile is accurately completed and that you have finished the tutorials for your preferred platforms.
Once these steps are complete, and your account is verified, you may be invited to participate in projects that match your profile. Keep in mind that many factors influence invitations, such as timezone, location, and past participation. Please be patient, rest assured your opportunities will come.
If you can’t remember your ID or password, go to Recover Your Password and insert your email. You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
If something goes wrong during your playtest (e.g your PC melted, your dog ate your phone in the middle of a playtest…), that session might be deemed invalid. Depending on the playtest requirements, you might be able to restart or even be invited to play again. When in doubt, feel free to contact us.
At the end of the playtest you will be requested to answer a survey regarding your experience. You can use that survey to report the issues you found while playing.
Playtest invitations are usually personal. If a playtest allows you to invite friends, the invitation will clearly state this.
Otherwise, your friends can register as testers on the platform using this link. If their profile meets the playtest's requirements, they may be selected to participate.
Whether you can play the game again depends on the playtest instructions. If the game has been publicly released (e.g., on Steam, Google Play, or the Apple Store), you are generally allowed to continue playing it. However, if the game is still under development, you must refrain from playing it again, as stipulated by the confidentiality agreement you signed when you joined as a game tester.
If you received a playtest invitation, it's because your profile matched certain criteria for the project. Please consider accepting, as any feedback is invaluable to the developers. If you believe it was a mistake, you can review your profile to make sure it matches your interests.
Having said that, participation is voluntary. You are free to accept or reject any project assigned to you!
Please note: if you fail to respond to some consecutive playtest invitations, your account may be marked as inactive, and you might stop receiving notifications for new projects over a period of time.
Sharing a confidential game is strictly forbidden by our terms and services and the Non-disclosure agreement you accepted. Any violation of our terms and services could result in banning you from the platform as well as legal action against you in accordance with European and Spanish laws.
We're sorry to see you go 😢. You can remove your account by going to Antidote, selecting Account > Security, and click on Remove My Account.
Sure. To do so, just sign up as a company, select your desired plan and start creating playtests with Antidote!
Every time you playtest a game in Antidote you will get Experience Points (XP) and Antidote Coins based on how long the session was. XP will let you increase your player ranking. Based on it, you may be assigned to more games and your ratio of obtained coins per minute will increase. Antidote Coins can be exchanged in the Antidote Store for game related gifts such as Steam and Amazon gift cards, tickets for big events, games and consoles! Read more about the Antidote Reward system!
Antidote Coins and XP are awarded to all participants once the playtest has fully concluded and all individual participant sessions have been verified. The time this takes can vary, from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on the specific playtest and the developer's requirements.
The redeemable rewards from the Antidote Store are usually sent every few weeks. If it has been more than a month since you redeemed your reward, feel free to contact us and provide your Antidote username, so we can check your redeem status.
You may only join Antidote under the following conditions:
In the latter case, you will need to create the player account and send your username, the written authorization and a copy of the legal guardian’s ID to support@antidote.gg. Please take into account that you might not receive playtests as often as the rest of the players due to the limitations enforced by PEGI content ratings or company requirements.
Unfortunately it is currently not possible for users to change the username of their Antidote account themselves. If you want to change your username, you should contact our support team directly, who will change your username for you.
In some cases, it might take some time between receiving the gift and the said change being reflected in your account. Please be patient, your account will be updated soon!
