href=\"https:\/\/www.wakfu.com\/en\/prehome\"><b>WAKFU<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, are tactical MMORPGs that submerge players in the whimsical Krosmoz universe, embarking them on quests to retrieve magical dragon eggs known as Dofus.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The studio is recognized for its innovative approach to combining game development with other forms of entertainment, creating a unique, cross-media narrative experience for its audience.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal was to make the game <\/span><b>more accessible and appealing to new players<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, enhancing its friendliness and facilitating expansion into new markets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To achieve this, the team at Ankama aimed to conduct <\/span>a <b><a href=\"https:\/\/antidote.gg\/antidote-services\/first-time-user-experience-ftue-playtesting\/\">First Time User Experience (FTUE) playtest<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to gather insights from their target audience. In addition, they wanted to carry out a series of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/antidote.gg\/antidote-services\/game-concept-validation\/\"><b>concept validation sessions<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to gather player perspectives on the specific game elements.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked about what encouraged them to seek external assistance with their project, <strong>Sacha<\/strong>, <strong>Product Manager at Ankama<\/strong>, responded by saying:<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<strong><span style=\"color: #808080;\">First, we <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i><strong><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><i>needed <u>available players outside of our current markets<\/u><\/i><i>. So, we were seeking mainly American players to test the game. And we also <\/i><i>needed <u>qualitative feedback<\/u><\/i><i><u> from the UX team<\/u>. The qualitative part involved <\/span><b>one-on-one interviews<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the players from Antidote\u2019s community, which was moderated by our in-house UX team.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The quantitative segment included <\/span><b>surveys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where participants answered a series of questions, providing their insights on the assigned creatives and helping to validate hypotheses derived from the interview responses.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, we coordinated a FTUE playtest involving 10 players that lasted approximately 2 hours. The primary goals were to evaluate the <\/span><b>effectiveness of the game\u2019s onboarding process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>understand the reasons behind player churn<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This involved participants playing through the tutorial stage, early gameplay and navigating the general menu.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We asked Ankama about Antidote\u2019s delivery process:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>With your <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><i><u>recording solution<\/u><\/i><i>, we watched how players experienced the game, what they had to say in <u>real-time as they experienced it<\/u>. That was very useful for us to<\/i><i> u<u>nderstand why they disliked or liked<\/u><\/i><i><u> some parts of the game, some elements<\/u>.<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><i>And that was really amazing for us to be able <u>to see how <\/u><\/i><u><i>players experience a specific combat<\/i><i>, a <\/i><\/u><\/strong><\/span><b><i><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><u>specific quest.<\/u><\/strong><\/span>\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By using the features of Antidote&#8217;s platform, the Ankama team could directly receive gameplay recordings from the playtest sessions. And so, <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i><strong><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><i>the adaptations we implemented<\/i><i> in the game allowed us to really <\/i><i>have success with this relaunch<\/i><i>. So, there were more than 200,000 installs recently and the <\/i><i>retention is very satisfying based on our history<\/i><\/span><\/strong><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, we asked Ankama about the most valuable insights gained from working with Antidote:<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>The valuable insights were mainly to, as I said previously, to <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><i><u>really understand how people experience the game<\/u><\/i><i>.<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><i>So, that was something we had never done before, to really see <\/i><i><u>in real time how a new player experiences the game<\/u><\/i><i>.
